About

The Woodgate & District Residents Association Inc. (WDRA) is a not-for-profit community organisation committed to representing the interests’ of Woodgate residents.

The Woodgate & District Residents Association Inc. actively encourages and supports community interests and involvement by providing a forum for open and unbiased discussions.

The Woodgate & District Residents Association Inc.works for, and acts on behalf of, the community when liaising with Local, State and Federal Government in matters relevant to the Woodgate community. Through a variety of projects we aim to provide services and amenities for the benefit of the community.

First formed in 1958 as the Woodgate Progress Association, the group aimed to foster community interest in Woodgate and to upgrade the town’s conveniences through better liaison with local government.

Over time, the association has evolved in structure and formed strong connections with local Council – formerly the Isis Shire Council and now the Bundaberg Regional Council – and fostered relationships with enthusiastic local volunteers.

During the 1990s, the WDRA and volunteers rebuilt and refurbished beach side shelter sheds and BBQs, laid more than a kilometre of paved walkway, and installed picnic tables and seats.

Today, the WDRA is active in sourcing State and Federal grants to improve community facilities in the town, including gardens and parks and the local Community Hall.
