Woodgate is a quiet coastal town in the Wide Bay region, about four and half hours drive north of Brisbane.
Our bay is called Hervey Bay (but we’re not Hervey Bay, the town); our nearest regional city is Bundaberg, 56 km away. Childers is our closest neighbour, just 25 minutes drive.
Residents and visitors alike appreciate Woodgate for its quiet, easy lifestyle and 16 km of sandy beach. Surrounded by marine and national parks, our town is a natural paradise.
Our population of 1,521 (Census, 2021) enjoys an energetic social scene and plenty of opportunity to join in community activities.
Like many small towns, the attraction is the slower pace, no crowds, less traffic. Many residents holidayed in Woodgate before deciding to retire here or take up a “sea-change”.
