Events
- Woodgate Community Events hosts three annual events including the Easter@ Woodgate Fair, Arts in Spring Festival and Australia Day activities.
- Woodgate Beach Hotel hosts a very popular fishing competition (September) and music weekends.
- ANZAC Day, Remembrance Day and Vietnam Veterans Day are commemorated each year by the RSL, Woodgate Beach Sub-Branch

- There is no hospital or General Practice in Woodgate. Nearest are in Childers or Bundaberg.
- Medical emergencies – Triple Zero (000). Local Queensland Ambulance First Responders are on call for immediate assistance.
- Woodgate Beach Pharmacy is located on Frizzells Road.

- Fishing – the boat ramp at Walkers Point is currently closed, undergoing an upgrade. Smaller boats can put in at Theodolite Creek and on the beach at the 4WD access, southern end of Acacia Street.
Tracks and Trails
- Banksia Track and Melaleuca Track walking trails.
- A walking/cycling path runs the length of the Esplanade
- 4WD tracks run through the Kinkuna and Burrum Point sections of the National Park to the camping grounds. High clearance 4WD only. Map of tracks and camp grounds >.
- Driving on the beach is permitted from the southern-most beach access on Acacia Street. Vehicles are permitted south of the access only (towards the Burrum River). Refresh your knowledge about driving in National Parks>
Shopping, Services & Trades
- Woodgate offers a small range of shops; you may need to travel to Bundaberg or Childers. View our business directory to find local.
- There is local Post Office but there is no postal delivery service. Residents can apply for a PO Box or have their mail held for collection at the Woodgate LPO. You can also buy your lottery at the post office.
Waste Management
- Bin collections – Tuesdays. Use link for recycle weeks.
- Waste Transfer Station – Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday: 2:00pm – 5:00pm
- Containers for Change collection – Woodgate Men’s Shed and Woodgate & Surrounds Wildlife Rescue accept donations. Use the barcodes to donate at a collection point, or drop off at:
- Men’s Shed – 2a Acacia St (bottom of the sports oval)
- Wildlife Rescue – 34 Woodgate Road, Goodwood (near the school)
Transport
- Airport – Bundaberg is the closest airport.
- Rail – Queensland Rail services can be accessed from Bundaberg.
- Taxi – there are no taxis or Ubers in Woodgate; available in Bundaberg.
- Bus – there are no Council bus services.
- Woodgate Community Bus schedules weekly trips to nearby towns. Monthly timetables can be accessed on their Facebook or via woodgate.bus@gmail.com
- Woodgate Beach Hotel and the Woodgate Club both have courtesy buses.
- Bundaberg Shuttle Bus Service may be able to assist with transport between other towns.
